Director

Molly Gooch

Ms. Gooch has been heavily involved in the show choir world since she first joined show choir at Oak Middle School. She was in advanced ensembles and held many leadership roles. She continued show choir while attending Los Alamitos High School which has several nationally ranked show choirs. Ms. Gooch was a part of several choirs over her four years including SoundTrax and Sound FX. She was also a section leader for several years, the Vocal Music Chair of the department, and the lead tech for 2 years. Ms. Gooch’s favorite part of choir was all the friends she made and how they became a family. All the choir members love and support each other through everything and she is still close with many of the friends she made in show choir.

In college, Ms. Gooch studied Vocal Performance at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and was involved in the advanced concert choir and the chamber choir which was a select group of 24 singers. Ms. Gooch was also the section leader of the advanced choir for three years and served as choir president for her final year in the program. In addition to her B.A. in Music, Ms. Gooch used the pandemic year to get her Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Longy School of Music of Bard College. She student taught 3rd grade students online and had the privilege to substitute for one of the choir teachers at Los Alamitos High School. She cannot wait to teach her new students and put all of the tools she’s learned over the last year to good use.
